Revelations of God's Rest

The book of Colossians is amazing.

I'm only seeing now that Paul's revelation of Christ at the centre explains the essence of life. Christ is the present. The present is not a tense, but the person of Jesus Christ. He is the only one who always lives in the truth of the moment, because He is the centre of every moment.

He is spontaneity, improvisation. Asking God for forgiveness under the new covenant is like asking God to send us a saviour. If this was possible Adam would have been the 1st to ask, but he the knowledge of good and evil alienates believers from resting in the moment, producing the consciousness of the flesh. Satan did not need to speak to Adam and Eve about condemnation. The knowledge of good and evil produced self condemnation.

In fact Romans 8 is very clear that there is no condemnation in Christ, therefore the consciousness of the flesh results in self condemnation. God asked Adam "who told you that you were naked?" He told himself - he condemned himself. His flesh. The flesh is crucified in Christ. Adam was bewitched by the law worrying about the past and the future. He was bewitched from resting in the present (Christ).

Where as Adam was a life-bearing spirit, Christ is life giving. He is the present (God's Gift flowing with milk and honey).

Enjoy WordUp's version of the book of Colossians.
